PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. praying to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level) Madurai, Madurai District to complete the trial and dispose of the case in STC No.537 of 2016 pending on his file within the time frame by this Hon'ble Court. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level) Madurai, Madurai, Madurai District to complete the trial and dispose of the case in STC No.537 of 2016 pending on his file within the time frame by this Hon'ble Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the case is pending trial without any progress.

3. Though this Court had already directed the trial Court to dispose of the case within a period of six months in STC No.537 of 2016 vide order dated 03.11.2018, the Court below was unable to complete the trial due to covid-19 pandemic situation.

4. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the learned learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level) Madurai, Madurai, Madurai District to dispose the case pending in STC no.537 of 2016 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and report compliance to this court after completion of the proceedings. Further the petitioner shall appear before the trial Court on hall hearing dates without fail and co-operate for trial and take steps to execute the Non Bailable Warrant pending.

5. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
