This writ petition has been filed seeking writ of mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the terminal benefits of the petitioner's deceased wife namely Subbulakshmi in favour of her legal heirs. 2.This matter earlier came up for consideration before this Court on 11.03.2026 and the same was adjourned at the instance of Mr.N.Satheeshkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, for getting instructions. 3.Today (i.e., 25.03.2026), when the matter is taken up for consideration again, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the disciplinary proceedings pending as on the date of demise of the petitioner's wife stood abated and, consequently, the period of suspension was regularised through proceedings in Na.Ka.No.1062/A3/2022 dated 23.03.2026 and Na.Ka.No.763/A1/2026 dated 24.03.2026. The annual increment was also granted in favour of the petitioner's deceased wife and steps are being taken for release of terminal benefits in favour of the eligible legal heirs.

4.In that circumstances, this Court does not see any reason to go into the merits of the matter and accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to take all necessary steps for disbursing the terminal benefits of the petitioner's diseased wife in favour of the eligible legal heirs as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of ten (10) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
