ORDER

This petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation in respect of the FIR in Crime No.20 of 2015 dated 03.02.2015 and to file a final report before the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate Court, Papanasam, within the time limit to be stipulated by this Court.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the Defacto Complainant and a case was registered in Cr.No.20 of 2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 294 (b), 398, 426, 452 & 506(ii) of IPC r/w. Section 3 of PPD Act. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner is aged about 64 years and he is not in a position to follow the case. Hence, he prays for a direction to complete the investigation.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submits that investigation is still pending and in view of COVID-19 pandemic, the respondent Police is not in a position to complete the investigation. He further submits that if some time is granted, they would complete the investigation.

4. Considering the rival submissions and the present state of affairs, this Court deems it fit to dispose of this petition with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
