ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned DSGI for the respondents.

2. The petitioner is a resident of kodaikanal. The petitioner's grievance is that on account of the damage to the compound wall of the Observatory Sub Post Office, the lives of the local residents has been imperiled. The details have been graphically set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition.

3. All that the petitioner wants is reconstruction of the damaged compound wall. No exception can be taken to the request. In fact, the learned counsel for the petitioner went to the extent of stating that if permitted, the local residents themselves would carry out the construction which is for their own safety.

4. The learned DSGI submitted that the proposal has already been submitted and the respondents are only waiting for release of the funds. 2/4

5. I direct the respondents to speed up the process and ensure that the compound wall of the observatory sub post office is constructed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
