O R D E R

This petition is filed seeking direction to direct the learned Special Court for the Trial of Cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, Tirunelveli, to expedite the trial in Spl.Case No.9 of 2015. 2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that delay occurred only due to the absence of the petitioner before the Trial Court. The petitions have been filed by the accused persons before this Court seeking quashment of Spl.Case No.9 of 2015 and the same were disposed of by this Court, in the year 2020. Later, Spl.Case No.9 of 2015 was adjourned to 29.07.2020 for examination of witnesses. It is seen that there are more than 120 witnesses and it will take long time to complete the trial process.

Crl.OP(MD)No.6804 of 2022 3.Considering the fact that examination of witnesses will take long time and also considering the fact that the matter is of the year 2015, there shall be a direction to the Special Court for the Trial of Cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, Tirunelveli, to conclude the trial process within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any difficult is faced by the Trial Court to complete the trial process, it can seek extension of time.

4.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
