O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to survey the land in Survey Nos.140/2A, 140/2B, 139/3C, 140/1A & 140/1B situated at Alanda Village, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on the basis of the online Application dated 18.11.2025 and 24.11.2025 in Application Nos. 2025/0123/28/010969 & 2025/0123/28/011027 respectively and demarcate the boundaries and to put up boundary stones.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the survey had already been conducted in the presence of the petitioner. However, the petitioner contended that the adjacent landowners had objected to it and therefore requested that the property be re-surveyed in the presence of both the petitioner and the adjacent landowners.

Considering the above, this Court directs the first respondent to conduct the survey and fix the boundaries with the help of second respondent after issuing notice to the petitioner and the adjacent land owners. The Court is also directing the Official respondent to adhere to the following Standard Operating Procedures:

a. The Official respondent shall issue notice to the petitioner immediately reaching the spot where survey is to be conducted. The petitioner shall affix the signature by receiving the notice of survey.

b. After survey again the petitioner shall affix signature indicating that the survey was conducted to their satisfaction.

c. If the petitioner is not satisfied, then also the petitioner shall affix signature indicating their dissatisfaction or with protest. The petitioner shall 3/6

indicate that reason of their dissatisfaction or protest. The aforesaid procedure shall be strictly followed by the parties The said exercise shall be completed within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
