When the matter came up for hearing today, the petitioner as well as the second respondent / de-facto complainant are personally present before this Court and identified themselves.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent.

3. During the pendency of the proceedings, at the intervention of the elders, an amicable settlement has been arrived at between the parties and a Joint Compromise Memo dated 14.05.2018 has also been filed by them. In the said memorandum of compromise, the de-facto complainant/second respondent has stated that the dispute has been amicably settled between them and she has no objection to quash the proceedings pending against the petitioner Spl.S.C.No.26 of 2013 on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Court, Virudhunagar District at Srivilliputhur.

4. In view of the same, the proceedings Spl.S.C.No.26 of 2013 on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Court, Virudhunagar District at Srivilliputhur, is quashed. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The Joint Compromise Memo dated 14.05.2018 shall form part of the order.
