Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance tof a writ of certiorarified mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned vide C.No. R2/315/2015 dated 03.08.15 on the file of the Second respondent in connection with the Direct Recruitment for the post of Sub - Inspectors of police (Taluk) (Men & Women) - 2015 vide Advertisement No. 1/15 and Notification No. 1/15 dated 08.02.2015 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to remeasure the petitioner and proceed with the selection process.

JUDGMENT
(Judgment of the Court was delivered by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.) The appellant participated in the process for direct recruitment for the post of Sub Inspector of Police (Taluk) (men and women) 2015 vide advertisement No.1/2015 and notification No.1/2015 dated 08.02.2015. As per the notification, candidates should have atleast 170 cm of height. But he was rejected stating that he did not satisfy the said requirement. Challenging the same, the appellant filed W.P.(MD) No.14061 of 2015 before this Court. The learned single Judge of this Court dismissed the said writ petition on 07.08.2015 mainly on the ground that too have physical measurement of his height, the petitioner did not turn up before this Court. Challenging the said order, he is before this Court with this appeal.

2. We have heard the learned counsel for the appellant, the learned Special Government Pleader for the first respondent and we have also perused the records carefully.
3. When this matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that due to unavoidable circumstances on 07.08.2015, when the writ petition came up for final hearing before the learned single Judge, he could not be present. The said explanation is accepted by this Court now.
4. This Court, therefore, directed measurement of the appellant's height being taken in the presence of the Registrar (Administration) of this Court by the officials of the 2nd respondent. Accordingly, measurement was taken and the Registrar (Administration) of this Court has submitted a report stating that the appellant's height is 170.5 cm. Thus, he has got required height to participate in the further proceedings. In view of the above, we are inclined to allow this writ appeal.
5. In the result, the writ appeal is allowed; the appellant is declared to possess the required height and therefore, the respondents are directed to allow the appellant to participate in the further selection process. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
