RESPONDENTS/ RESPONDENTS Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the affidavit filed therewith the High Court will be pleased to extend the time granted by this Honourable Court in CMP(MD). No.1574/2020 in CMA.(MD).No.93/2020 dated 17.02.2020 for further period of eight weeks and thus render justice. Prayer in CMP(MD). 1574/ 2020 :

To stay of all further proceedings pursuant to the impugned award passed in MCOP. No.488/2017 dated 31.7.2019.on the file of MACT(Special District Judge), Tiruchirappalli, pending disposal of the above appeal.

ORDER : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.P.M.VISHNUVARTHANAN, Advocate for the petitioner, the court made the following order:- Heard.

By order dated 17.02.2020, this Court granted an order of interim stay on condition to deposit 50% of the award amount with proportionate interest and costs to the credit of the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal / Special District Judge, Tiruchirappalli, in M.C.O.P.No.488 of 2017 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. The petitioner / appellant filed the present petition seeking to extend the time limit for a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

CMP(MD) No.3311 of 2020 further period of eight weeks stating that due to Covid-19 Pandemic, entire administrative function of the petitioner Corporation was halted.

2.Considering the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of the petition, twelve weeks time is extended from today to comply with the order dated 17.02.2020, made in C.M.P(MD)No.1574 of 2020 in C.M.A.No.93 of 2020, failing which, the interim stay granted shall stand automatically vacated, without any further reference to this Court.

3.The petition is accordingly ordered.
