: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Tahsildar, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District, the second respondent herein to pass suitable orders to effect proper sub-division in respect of the lands to an extent of about 27 cents out of Western 99 cents out of larger extent of 3 acres 99 cents comprised in UDR survey No. 44/1A1, Old Survey No.44/1, Kanjirankulam Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk, Sivagangai District and to issue a separate patta for the said lands in the name of the petitioner, thereby processing the 1/5

application of the petitioner dated 19.03.2021 and 02.07.2024, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court, by allowing the above writ petition.

The petitioner seeks issuance of a separate patta after effecting sub-division.

2.I have heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Satheesh, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner owned 99 cents and out of the said 99 cents he had sold only 72 cents retaining cents for himself. However, his lands came to be sub-divided under UDR survey and no patta was issued to him. Therefore, the petitioner has given a representation seeking for issuance of patta after sub-division. The said representation has been made on 2/5

19.03.2021 and a reminder was also sent on 02.07.2024. 4.Considering the above, it would suffice to dispose of this Writ Petition, directing the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
