Prayer: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the second respondent to provide police protection to life and limb of the petitioners from the respondents 3 to 8.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide police protection to the life and limb of the petitioners.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the third petitioner married a Schedule Caste man. Due to this, on 11.04.2021, the respondents 3 to 8 trespassed into the petitioners' house and abused the petitioners by using the third petitioner's husband caste name and attacked the petitioners with weapon and caused injuries and also made criminal intimidation to the petitioners. Hence, the petitioner went to the second respondent police station and lodged a complaint. Further, the first petitioner sent his complaint to the respondents 1 and 2 through registered post on 12.04.2021. But till date, the respondent police did not take any action on the petitioner's complaint. On the other hand, the respondents 3 to 8 with an intention to murder the petitioners roaming around the petitioners' house with weapon. Since no action has been taken by the respondent police, the petitioner is before this Court, with this present Criminal Original Petition.

3.According to the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) for the respondent police, due to love marriage between the third petitioner and one Prabhakaran, the dispute arose between the petitioner's family members and the private respondents. In respect of which, the complaint has also been given, which is registered in C.S.R.No.104 of 2021, dated 16.04.2021, on the file of the second respondent police.

4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 12.04.2021 and pass appropriate orders by considering the facts and circumstances, necessity of the request by enquiring on the parties concerned in accordance with law within a period of fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
