ORDER

The petition has been filed seeking a direction to expedite the investigation in connection with the Crime No.350 of 2017 and to file a final report within a stipulated time. 2.The case of the petitioner is that on 17.05.2017, the petitioner along with his school friend arrived near to Trichy Airport from Chennai to purchase gold. At that time, some unknown persons took away a sum of Rs.26 lakhs. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the Airport police station on 18.05.2017. Based on the complaint, a case in Crime No.350 of 2017 for the offence under Sections 420, 323, 506(ii) of I.P.C . has been registered. Subsequently, the sections were altered 420, 323, 506 (ii), 392 r/w 397 of I.P.C and thereafter, the petitioner continuously approached the respondent police. However, no steps were taken by the respondent police to expedite the investigation. Hence, the present petition.

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.5509 of 2021 would submit that the investigation is going on and a final report will be filed within the time stipulated by this Court. 4.Considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), the respondent is directed to conclude the investigation and file final report in Crime No.350 of 2017 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
