O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's grandfather executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner and transferred the subject property in the petitioner's name by Document No.649/1983 dated 27.06.1983. From that time, the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the property with absolute right and title. While so, on 22.10.2020, the respondents 3 to 6 restrained the petitioner from entering the subject property, stating that the property belongs to them. In this regard, the petitioner gave a complaint to the respondent and Anti Land Grabbing Cell, Trichirappalli. Based on the complaint, the respondent police and Anti Land Grabbing Cell enquired the respondents 3 to 6, wherein they promised not to interfere with the peaceful possession and enjoyment of the petitioner. However, thereafter, once again, the respondents 3 to 6 are threatening the 1/3

petitioner and her family members. Hence, she sent a complaint dated 07.01.2021 to the respondent police and Anti Land Grabbing Cell by registered post and the same was acknowledged. However, no action is taken so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court seeking police protection.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2, on instructions, would submit that the representation of the petitioner, dated 07.01.2021 will be considered by the respondent police.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent police are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 07.01.2021 by following the due process of law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
