DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN., J AND R.POORNIMA.,J The Writ Petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to modify his order, dated 21.02.2025 in NO.212/UTHA.2/2025 and to grant ordinary leave of 21 days without escort to the Petitioner's son, the Prisoner, Manikandan, son of Selvaraj, bearing LCT No.4391(PID No.159540), serving life sentence at Palayamkottai Central Prison. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.Modification of the leave condition is filed stating that the convict be allowed to enjoy his leave without escort, since there is 2/5

no threat either to his life or to the victim's family. 4.This Court, on considering the previous conduct of the convict, modified the leave condition to the effect that he shall be granted 21 days ordinary leave without escort. However, the convict should report before the Rajakkamangalam Police Station. Kanyakumari District, daily at 10 a.m and 5.30 p.m. 5.With the above modifications, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
