O R D E R

Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and carefully perused the materials available on record.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that the application submitted by the petitioner on 18.07.2024, claiming the TamilNadu Police Benevolent Fund has not been considered by the respondents.

On instructions, Mr.Satheeshkumar, Additional Government Pleader submits that the writ petitioner, who is the father of the Mr.Sampathkumar, Grade II Police Constable, Central Prison, Trichy submitted an application dated 18.07.2024, claiming financial assistance from the TamilNadu Police Benevolent Fund. In fact the son of the petitioner namely Mr.Sampathkumar worked as a Second Grade warder in the Central Prison, Trichy. Due to cancer, he was expired on 31.07.2023. The petitioner requested to pay the amount incurred for his son's medical treatment i.e., Rs.3,82,361/- from the TamilNadu Police Benevolent Fund. The petitioner's son had worked in the Central Prison Department. The petitioner wrongly claimed in the Tamilnadu Police Benevolent Fund instead of TamilNadu Jail Benevolent Fund. 2/4

The learned Additional Government Pleader further submits that the claim of the petitioner for financial assistance under Tamilnadu Jail Benevolent Fund has not been considered and it is rejected vide proceedings dated 22.03.2025, stating that the petitioner is not eligible for the said claim. The rejection order dated 22.03.2025, has been placed before this Court on record.

5. In view of the fact that the application dated 18.07.2024, has been considered by the respondents and orders have been passed and rejected the claim of the petitioner, in our considered opinion no further orders are required in the present writ petition.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed.

7. However, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the proceedings issued by the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Tiruchirappalli Range, Trichy dated 22.03.2025, if he is so advised. 26.03.2025 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no gvn 3/4
