Mr.M.Karunanithi, Government Advocate (Criminal Side) ORDER : The Court made the following order :- This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking modification of the condition imposed on the petitioners in Crl.M.P.No. 526 of 2026 by the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Pudukkottai, by order dated 24.02.2026.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the major offence alleged against the petitioner is only under Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and that the condition imposed is onerous. Hence, he seeks to set aside the said order.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the modification of the said condition by submitting that the accused had criminally intimidated the defacto complainant. Hence, the learned Judge has rightly imposed the condition. 2/5

4. This Court has considered the rival submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned Trial Court has imposed an onerous condition. Hence, this Court is inclined to modify the said condition as follows: "The petitioners are directed to report before the respondent police daily at 10.30 a.m. for a period of fifteen days and thereafter, as and when required for interrogation."

The other conditions imposed by the Trial Court shall remain unaltered.

6. With the above modification, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
