This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 to 3 herein to provide adequate police protection to the family of the petitioner for life and limb by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.03.2025.
2.According to the petitioner, her native is Rameshwaram, Ramanathapuram District and her first son is studying sixth standard and the second son is studying second standard. While so, due to family dispute, they borrowed money for interest from the villagers and they demanded more interest and thereby, she is unable to pay the interest amount. However, she settled the principal amount. Now, the money lenders are demanding exorbitant interest. Therefore, she vacated her house and now staying at Mallampatti Village, Virudhunagar District. Now the petitioner wants to get transfer certificates of her sons but the 2/5
above said money lenders causing life threat to the petitioner and therefore, the petitioner sent the representation dated 05.03.2025, but the same has not been considered. Hence this petition. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner's representation was received through post and thereafter, she has not appeared for enquiry. On enquiry, the third respondent came to know that no any complaint has been lodged against the petitioner and no any life threat to her as alleged in this petition. If the petitioner appears for enquiry, the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with law.
4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this petition, this Court recording the submission made on behalf of the respondent police, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and take appropriate action within a period of fifteen days from the date of this order in accordance with law. 3/5
5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
