This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to consider and pass order on the petitioner's representation, dated 01.07.2024 to declare the probation period of the petitioner with all service and monetary benefits.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner is working as Junior Assistant in Thirunelveli Government Medical College with effect from 25.07.2005. His services were regularised with effect from the date of his initial appointment. Though services were regularised, his probation was not declared. He made a representation to the first respondent on 01.07.2024 to declare the probation period of the petitioner. Against the inaction of the first respondent in considering the representation of the petitioner, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/5

Considering the fact that the representation of the petitioner is pending from 01.07.2024 with the first respondent, it is reasonable and appropriate to dispose of this writ petition at the admission stage with the consent of both parties without going into the merits of the case with a direction to the first respondent to consider the said representation and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible in the interest of justice.
5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation, dated 01.07.2024 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
