PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection for conducting the Rekla Race (Bullock Cart Race) on 30.03.2025 at 06.00 am to 08.00 am at Pappakudi Samathuvapuram Bus Stop to Idaikal Merit College in the eve of Celebration of Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu as well as DMK Political Party by considering the petitioner's representation dated 26.02.2025. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J. NISHA BANU, J.) By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2.It is the grievance of the petitioner that his representation dated 26.02.2025, to direct the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection for conducting the Rekla Race (Bullock Cart Race) on 30.03.2025 at 2/6

06.00 am to 08.00 am at Pappakudi Samathuvapuram Bus Stop to Idaikal Merit College, is kept pending till date without any progress. Therefore, he has filed this Writ Petition with the aforesaid prayer. 3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 submits that the representation of the petitioner will be disposed of by the respondents in accordance with law within a time frame. 4.In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 26.02.2025 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 29.03.2025, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as any of the interested parties. 3/6

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
