PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct the State Level Flood Light Kabadi Tournament to be held on 23.05.2024 and 26.05.2024 every day at about 06.00 am to 12.00 am, near Neethi Nagar, Melur Main Road, Y.Othakadai, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 04.03.2024 submitted before the respondents. The petitioner had filed this petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct the State Level Flood Light Kabadi Tournament to be held on 23.05.2024 and 26.05.2024 every day at about 06.00 am to 12.00 am, near Neethi Nagar, Melur Main Road, Y.Othakadai, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 04.03.2024. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner made a representation to the respondents Police seeking permission to conduct the State Level Flood Light Kabadi Tournament. But the respondents refused to grant permission for conducting the Kabadi Tournament.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the due to Model Code of Conduct, the respondents could not grant permission for conducting the Kabadi Tournament.

4.Since the Election was already over, the respondents shall take a call on the application of the petitioner herein and shall consider the same. The Respondents shall also undertake to follow the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, Chennai-4, in Rc.No.007301/General I(I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. 5.In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of .
