ORDER
The present Petition has been filed by A1 and A2 in S.T.C.No.609 of 2025 on the file of the District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Watrap, seeking to quash the final report in S.T.C.No.609 of 2025 on the file of the District Munsif Cum Judicial Magistrate, Watrap, wherein, the Petitioners have been charge sheeted for the offences under Section 506(i) of IPC. 2.A perusal of the chargesheet reveals that the petitioners are said to have threatened the defacto complaint and demanded a bribe for carrying out certain development activities in the Kodikulam Town Panchayat.
3. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, a few days prior to the alleged occurrence, the petitioners, being advocates, had sought information under the Right to Information Act, with regard to the construction of a water tank and a reply was received on 27.10.2022. It is further submitted that, only with a view to wreak vengeance against the petitioners, the present false criminal complaint has been lodged. 2/5
4.Heard both sides and perused the material records. 5.A perusal of the charge sheet reveals that the prima facie has been made out as against the petitioners and therefore, this Court is not inclined to interfere at this stage especially when no legal grounds have been raised for quashing the charge sheet.
6.The trial Court is directed to dispose of the case on merits without being influenced by any one of the observations made by this Court. 7.With the above said observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, the connected criminal miscellaneous petitions are closed.
