O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to issue patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the property situated at Levinjipuram Village, Radhapuram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, bearing Natham Old Survey No. 445/4B, New Survey No. 445/31, Door No. 114A, measuring 0.04.66 hectares, and to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.01.2023 seeking the grant of patta and issuance of revenue receipts in his favor.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner has given a representation dated 31.01.2023 to the respondents seeking issuance of patta and revenue receipt in his favour for the properties referred to above. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Learned Special Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents, submits that the petitioner's representation would be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.01.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry. The third respondent is directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such inquiry to the petitioner and to any others who may be affected by such decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
