ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to initiate acquisition proceedings for the petitioners land in Survey No. 1078/1B, Chinnamanur Village, Uthamapalayam Taluk, Theni District and pay compensation as per the prevailing market value in accordance with law on basis of the petitioner's representations dated 02.01.2026 and 04.03.2026 within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that the respondents have taken the petitioner's land without initiating acquisition proceedings for the purpose of widening the road. If the submission of the petitioner is correct, then the laying/widening of the road becomes illegal. The petitioner is protected under Article 300-A of the Constitution.

3. In view of the above, the respondents are directed to initiate acquisition proceedings. If the petitioner's land has been taken for widening of the road, the 2/4

respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representations and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
