The petitioners are husband and wife. They have purchased the property way back in 1990 and patta was also issued to them in 1991. However, at the instance of the third party, the patta of the petitioners was cancelled. The said cancellation of the patta was challenged successfully by the petitioners before the revenue authorities. The aggrieved party also moved this Court by way of W.P.(MD)No.10975 of 2021, which was dismissed. Consequently, the petitioners sought for restoration of patta in their names as originally found in Patta No.72. The petitioner also filed Writ Petition before this Court in W.P.(MD)No.17317 of 2022 and this Court by order dated 03.08.2022, directed the respondents to pass final orders within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Despite passage of more than 2 1⁄2 years, the respondents have not passed any final orders, despite direction of this Court in W.P.(MD)No.17317 of 2022. The petitioners have therefore, made a representation on 27.01.2025, seeking the third respondent to restore the patta in their names. 2/5

2.In view of the earlier round of litigation and also the orders passed by the revenue authorities confirming the entitlement of the petitioners which was also brought to the notice of this Court in the earlier Writ Petition and this Court having directed the respondents to pass final orders, the respondents cannot keep the request of the petitioner pending indefinitely. 3.The respondents are hereby directed to take up the petitioners' application to restore the original patta in the name of the petitioners' jointly and pass final orders within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
