Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to correct the petitioner's grandfather's name in the Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249 comprised in S.F.Nos.404/2B, 404/4A, 437/1E, 420/10A3, 429/7A, 468/3B2, 433/11B, 399/11, 395/1, 437/1C in respect of the properties situated at Chockalingapuram Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai standing in the name of the petitioner's father Chinnukone whose father name (petitioner's grandfather's name) is wrongly mentioned and after correction to issue patta in the petitioner's name and also in Patta No.1249 issued in the petitioner's name as Alagu instead of Sekar and also his father's name as Chinnaiah instead of Chinnukone. *********** This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to correct the petitioner's grandfather's name in Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249 comprised in S.F.Nos.404/2B, 404/4A, 437/1E, 420/10A3, 429/7A, 468/3B2, 433/11B, 399/11, 395/1, 437/1C in respect of the properties situated at Chockalingapuram Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai, based on the petitioner's representations dated 05.01.2022, 16.02.2022 and 07.04.2022, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2.According to the petitioner, in Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249, the name of his grandfather has been wrongly mentioned which covers the aforementioned properties. In such circumstances, the petitioner has given the aforementioned representations, seeking for correcting the petitioner's grandfather's name in Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249. Since the said representations have not been considered till date, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3.Heard Mr.R.Murugan, learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.The petitioner has filed Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249 along with this writ petition, standing in the name of his grandfather. According to him, the name of his grandfather has been wrongly mentioned. According to him, the correct name of his grandfather is Periyampillai Konar.
5.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents if the petitioner's representations are considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing. 6.For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 05.01.2022, 16.02.2022 and 07.04.2022, requesting the second respondent to correct the petitioner's grandfather's name in Patta Nos.624, 625, 626, 629, 631 and 1249 in respect of the properties comprised in S.F.Nos.
404/2B, 404/4A, 437/1E, 420/10A3, 429/7A, 468/3B2, 433/11B, 399/11, 395/1, 437/1C in respect of the properties situated at Chockalingapuram Revenue Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing within a period of twelve [12] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
