Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider petitioner's representations dated 27.04.2018 and 25.05.2018 and consequently to extend the lease period in favour of the petitioner for doing quarry works in his patta lands in survey Nos.152/2A and 151/3, situating in Pudukottai Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District as per the proceedings of the second respondent in Na.Ka.M.2/348/2016 dated 19.08.2017 within a stipulated time.

Mr.C.Ramar, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that his representations dated 27.04.2018 and 25.05.2018, seeking for extension of lease period for carrying quarry operation in his Patta lands comprised in Survey Nos.152/2A and 151/3 of Pudukottai Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, has not been considered by the respondents till date and therefore, he has filed the present writ petition.

4. In view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 27.04.2018 and 25.05.2018 on its own merits and take further action in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Such an exercise shall be done after giving due opportunity to the petitioner as well as to the persons who may be interested in the subject matter.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
