ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to sanction educational loan of Rs.4,16,315/- to the petitioner for doing the Course B.E., Aeronautical Engineering at Kumaraguru College of Technology at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu for the academic years 2014-2015, 20152016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner had appeared in the 12th standard examination held in the month of March 2014 and secured 1139 marks out of 1200 marks. The petitioner got admission for doing the course B.E., (Aeronautical Engineering) at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. The petitioner is the first generation graduate from his family. As per the fees structure, the petitioner has to pay Rs.4,16,315/- for the above said course. Since the petitioner belongs to a poor family, he is not in a position to pay the above said fees. Hence, he submitted an application to the respondent through post on 18.11.2014 along with necessary documents for sanction of the educational loan. petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

Today when the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent bank submitted that though the petitioner has received the application form, he has not submitted the application before the respondent bank. He further submitted that if the petitioner submitted the application, the same would be considered according to the revised scheme framed by the Indian Banks Association.

In view of the submission made on either side, without going into the merits of the averment made in the Writ Petition, this Court directs the petitioner to submit the application within a period of one week from the date of receipt a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the respondent is directed to consider the same on merits and in accordance with the revised scheme framed by the Indian Banks Association, within a period of four weeks thereafter.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
