Challenging the notice issued by the first respondent directing the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.5,12,534/- as subscription arrears, the present writ petition has been filed.
2. According to the petitioner, he is having 118 connections only, whereas the first respondent calculated totally 1200 connections and demanded exhorbitant amount and without verifying the actual number of service connections given by the petitioner and without conducting an enquiry, the first respondent arrived at a figure and issued the demand notice.

The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner may be directed to appear before the first respondent with all particulars regarding the connections given by the petitioner and file an objection and the second respondent may be directed to conduct enquiry and after verifying the same, pass suitable orders on merits.
4. Recording the same, the impugned order passed by the first respondent, dated 06.06.2014, is set aside and the matter is remitted back to the first respondent and the petitioner is directed to submit an objection regarding the list to whom the connections given and after receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to conduct enquiry and pass orders, after verifying the objections made by the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
