ORDER

The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to delete the petitioner's name in Crime No.252 of 2023 on the file of the second respondent based on the representation given by the petitioner dated 21.02.2026.

2.The petitioner was implicated in the above said criminal case along with one Kavitha and Mahalingam alleging involvement in the financial transaction relating to securing employment. However after thorough investigation, at the time of filing of final report before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Karaikudi on 20.03.2024, the petitioner's name was removed from the said case. On 08.05.2024, the complainant was summoned by the concerned Court to state his objection if any relating to the deletion of the name of the petitioner. He had appeared and confirmed in writing that he had no objection for removal of the petitioner's name.

However, it is the grievance of the petitioner that still in the CCTNS (Crime Criminal Tracking System) web-site of the police authorities, the name of the petitioner is reflected as an accused person in the criminal case. Therefore, the petitioner has made a request for deleting the name of the petitioner from the CCTNS portal. Since the said request was not considered, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to delete the name of the petitioner in Crime No.252 of 2023.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the removal of the petitioner's name from CCTNS web-site may take sometime and therefore, a report is filed before this Court to the effect that no criminal case is pending as against the petitioner. The said report is taken on file.

4.In view of the above said facts, it is clear that as on today, no criminal case is pending as against the petitioner. This Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of after recording the report of the second respondent herein. A copy of the said report has also been furnished to the learned counsel for the petitioner.
