Respondents This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to pass suitable orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 05.06.2015 and to remove the seventh respondent from the post of Chairman of Sivagangai Municipality in accordance with Section 40(1) of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920. ORDER

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to pass suitable orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 05.06.2015 and to remove the seventh respondent from the post of Chairman of Sivagangai Municipality in accordance with Section 40(1) of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920.

2. Mr.Sadeeshkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 5 and Mr.P.Srinivas, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the sixth respondent.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, by the official respondents, on merits and in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

6. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, the fourth respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 05.06.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as the other respondents herein, particularly, the seventh respondent herein, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
