This Petition has been filed for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, praying a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection for cultural event Drama namely "Veerapandian Kattapomman" scheduled to be held on 08.07.2015 at night in connection with "Pongal Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Poisolla Mei Ayyanar, Sri Karuppanasamy, Irulayee Amman and 21 Gods Kovil at Thatchanenthal Village, Thirupuvanam via, Thirusuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the State and perused the records.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate submitted that picketing is already been in force. There is a serious likelihood of law and order problem, if the programme is permitted to go on.

4. There are two groups are involved. Even in the earlier occasion, in the order made in W.P.(MD).No.10436 of 2015 dated 25.06.2015, Puravi Eduppu was not allowed to go on. Considering the same this court is not inclined to give permission as a serious concern has been expressed from the point of view of law and order problem, more so when picketing is in force.
