ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUDHAKAR,J.) https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ Writ petition has been filed for a direction to forbear the respondents from carrying out illegal sand in Cauvery river, Musiri Taluk, Tricy District.

2.The Executive Engineer, second respondent herein has filed a detailed counter affidavit, stating as follows: "5.Regarding the averments made in 6 of the affidavit it is submitted that fresh quarry proposal is not proposed by Public Works Department in S.F.No.248/1, there is no quarry activities in the above said S.F.No.248/1.

6.Regarding the averments made in 7 of the affidavit, it is submitted that no sand quarrying activities were carried out in S.F.No.248/1 of Musiri Village and Taluk and the sand quarry was closed on 31.12.2012 in compliance to the orders passed by this Court on 03.08.2012. ..."

3.The learned Additional Advocate General states that two quarrying operations have been done after approval by the competent authority.
