The petitioner has come forward with the present Writ petition, seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider her application No.20359 for appointment to the post of Salesman in the Public Distribution System in Tiruchirappalli District based on the interview conducted on 05.02.2018. 2.The case of the petitioner is that she has submitted an application for the above said post and accordingly, she has been

called for interview on 05.02.2018. The grievance of the petitioner is that as she is an eligible candidate falling under inter-caste marriage quota, she should be considered and appointed to the above said post.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has attended interview on 05.02.2018 for the above said post and in view of ongoing Cooperative Society Election, the result was not announced. He has also submitted that there are several categories including intercaste marriage and based on the marks obtained by the petitioner in the interview, she would be considered for appointment on merit and ability among inter-caste marriage category.

4.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 5.It is seen that for 186 posts of Salesman in the Public Distribution System in Tiruchirappalli District, more than 10,000 applications have been received and the applications under the category of inter-caste marriage are got to be verified and if the petitioner is otherwise found eligible, certainly her candidature would be considered. But it cannot be assured that merely because she comes under inter-caste marriage, her application would be considered automatically for the above said post. 6.With this observation, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
