Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission and adequate police protection as against the 5th and 6th respondents for conducting temple festival of Arulmighu Krishnar Temple situated at Nilavandai Pottal, Palaiyur Kandanur, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.02.2025. ORDER
The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission and provide adequate police protection as against the 5th and 6th respondents for conducting temple festival of Arulmighu Krishnar Temple situated at Nilavandai Pottal, Palaiyur Kandanur, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering his representation dated 24.02.2025.

2. Heard Mr.V.Karuna, for the petitioner, Mr.G.Suriyananth, learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3, Mr.M.Karunanithi, learned Government Advocate for the fourth respondent and Mr.K.K.Samy, for the respondents 5 and 6.
3. Mr.G.Suriyananth had given an undertaking to this Court on 19.03.2025 that immediate mediation steps would be initiated by the Tahsildar to resolve the dispute between the petitioner and respondents 5 and 6. Accordingly, at his request, the matter was posted today.
4. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.V.Karuna and Mr.K.K.Samy stated that all the parties had met at before the office of the Tahsildar at Karaikudi. The following decisions were taken based on mutual understanding.

5. In addition, Mr.K.K.Samy states that those belonging to the Vallambar community have made arrangements for celebrating the festival at Arulmighu Krishnar Temple on 22.03.2025 and 23.03.2025. He further states that no person belonging to any other community will be prevented from offering worship at the temple. Similarly, the members belonging to the Maravar community have decided to celebrate their part of the festival on 24.03.2025 and 25.03.2025. On those days too, the persons belonging to the other communities should not be prevented from offering worship.
6. It is the duty of the fourth respondent to ensure that no one is prevented from offering worship in the temple nor shall any one be allowed to disrupt the performance of the festival by the Vallambar community on 22.03.2025 and 23.03.2025 and by the Maravar community on 25.03.2025 and 24.03.2025. In case the fourth respondent gets an intimation that any mischievous element is trying to create tension between both communities, the fourth respondent shall take all necessary steps to ensure that peace prevails.
