PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct respondents 3 and 4 to grant patta to the petitioners by considering the their representation dated 29.11.2014 for the property comprised in S.F.No.202/2 and 3 of Kanjirankulam Village, Sivagangai District within a reasonable time.

ORDER

The petitioners are Srilankan expatriates. According to the petitioners, they were originally given patta and that was taken back later. Therefore, the petitioners want this Court to direct the Revenue Department to grant them patta in the petition mentioned survey numbers.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader brought to the notice of this Court the communication sent by the Thasildar, Sivagangai Taluk, indicating that the petitioners' request cannot be complied with. This communication is addressed to the learned Additional Government Pleader. Therefore, this Court directs the fourth respondent to send a formal communication to the writ petitioners within a period two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, so that the petitioners can question the same in the manner known to law. 3.With this direction, the Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
