Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2018 and 27.05.2018 and consequently to grant permission and protection to the Maha Kumbabisekam Festival of the petitioner's temple viz., Soorankottai Sri Dharma Muneeswarar Thirukovil situating in Koorankottai, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District from 15.06.2018 to 17.06.2018 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2018 and 27.05.2018 and consequently to grant permission and protection to the Maha Kumbabisekam Festival of the petitioner's temple viz., Soorankottai Sri Dharma Muneeswarar Thirukovil situated at Koorankottai, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District from 15.06.2018 to 17.06.2018 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he made a representation to the respondents 1 to 3 on 27.05.2018, for granting permission and protection to the Maha Kumbabisekam Festival of the petitioner's temple viz., Soorankottai Sri Dharma Muneeswarar Thirukovil. But so far no order has been passed. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that if the representation is pending, the same shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

4. By considering the said submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.05.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 14.06.2018. The petitioner is also directed to enclose a copy of the representation along with the order copy to the third respondent.

5. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
