O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents not to prevent the petitioner to visit Thoothukudi at any time.

2.According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the Deputy Commissioner of Police had prevented the petitioner to

visit Thoothukudi, after lifting the ban imposed under Section 144 Cr.P.C. Therefore, he filed the present Writ Petition before this Court for the relief stated supra.

3.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the State submitted that the Writ Petition is not maintainable, since the prayer in the present Writ Petition cannot be granted, which is a blanket prayer. If the petitioner has any grievance, he has to approach the Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi District, Thoothukudi/the third respondent herein, for redressing his grievance. Without making such request, the present Writ Petition cannot be entertained.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks liberty to make a representation to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thoothukudi.

5.While considering the abovesaid submission of the parties, the present prayer cannot be entertained as requested by the learned counsel for the petitioner. However, liberty is granted to make a representation to the third respondent herein within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any such representation is received within the abovesaid period of time, the third respondent is directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.

6.This Writ Petition is dismissed with the above liberty. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
