Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The writ petitioner's mother viz., Maria Pushpam died due electrocution on 04.08.2006 at about 5.00 a.m. Crime No.177 of 2006 was registered on the file of the Manavalakurichi Police Station in this regard. The post-mortum was conducted. The postmortum certificate clearly indicates that the case of death of Maria Pushpam was due to electrocution. Seeking compensation for the death of his mother, this writ petition has been filed. 3.The basic facts are not in dispute. Therefore, the respondents are directed to pay a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- to the legal heirs of the deceased Maria Pushpam within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. the petitioner is one of the legal heirs of the deceased Maria Pushpam and there are four other legal heirs. Each of the legal heirs will be entitled to a sum of Rs.1,00,000/-. 4.The writ petition stands allowed. No costs.
