ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking to quash the impugned proceedings of the second respondent by an order dated 08.10.2024.

2. With the consent of the counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. Mr.Karthikeya Venkitachalapathy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. It is seen that the petitioner's application for patta has been rejected on the ground that the subject lands are reflected in the revenue records as Vaigai River. It is seen that the petitioner has an efficacious, alternative remedy available under the Patta Passbook. Without resorting 2/4

the same, the writ petitioner has filed the present writ petition. Therefore, writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to file a statutory revision before the District Revenue Officer and without putting limitation against the writ petitioner, such revision shall be entertained and after affording an opportunity to the petitioner and also after carrying the spot inspection, the first respondent shall pass final orders on the petitioner's revision as expeditiously as possible.
