The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct the Adal Padal Programme on 07.04.2023 at 08.00 pm to 11.00 pm in connection with Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Sri Muthalamman Thirukovil, G.Kallupatti, Periyakulam taluk, Theni district.
2. Mr.B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondents. He would submit that on earlier occasion, when similar programme was conducted, there trouble arose between two group of people. Over which, a murder was also committed. Hence, a case in Crime No.4 of 2023 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 324, 307, 302, 506(ii) IPC r/w 109 IPC has been registered. 3.Since the representation of the petitioner dated 16.03.2023 is pending on the file of the respondent police, it would appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner. If the respondents apprehends any breach of peace, the above 2/4
said representation shall be considered by the respondents on their own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the order of the respondent, he can workout his remedy in accordance with law.
4.With the above said directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
