ORDER

The petitioners have filed the present writ petition for a Mandamus directing the respondent to consider their claim of gratuity in view of the award of the Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Madurai passed in P.G.Nos.5/98, 6/98, 7/98, 31/99, 32/98 and 33/99 dated 7.12.1999 and pay appropriate amounts from the assets of Sheela Rani Textile Mill (P) Limited, Thenur, Madurai by considering their representation dated 6.5.2014.

2. Mr.R.Velmurugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice if the respondent is directed to consider the common representation of the petitioners dated 6.5.2014.

4. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, I direct the respondent to pass orders on the common https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation of the petitioners dated 6.5.2014, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving prior notice to the petitioners. The petitioners are directed to send a copy of the representation already sent along with the copy this order to the respondent. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
