Respondents Prayer: This Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitions in T.R.Nos.22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32/2015, pending before the petitioner under Registration of Tenancy, filed by the respondents 2 to 12 respectively against the petitioner, within the time that may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitions filed by the respondents 2 to 12 under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Lands Record of Tenancy Rights Act, 1969, which are pending before the first respondent from the year 2015 onwards. 1/3

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is the owner of the subject property and respondents 2 to 12 are claiming themselves to be tenants in the subject property. Hence, petitions were filed by them before the first respondent under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Lands Record of Tenancy Rights Act, 1969, to record them as tenants. The further case of the petitioner is that there has been absolutely no progress in the proceedings before the first respondent and hence left with no other option, the present Writ Petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3. Heard Mr.M.Karthikeyavenkitachapathy, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.P.Mahendran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first respondent.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to deal with the petitions filed by the respondents 2 to 12 in T.R.Nos.22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32/2015, after affording opportunity to the petitioner and respondents 2 to 12 and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and strictly in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the first respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
