ORDER

The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 28.12.2025 for registration as Class-IV contractor with the Public Works Department.

2. Heard Mr.Ganapathi Subramanian, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Senthil Ayyanar, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

3. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that as many as 15 documents are necessary for registration. Though the petitioner has submitted several documents, certain other documents are required. It is further submitted that upon submission of the other documents, the same will be considered and orders will be passed. 2/4

4. In view thereof, this writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:- i. Within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a web copy of the order, respondents 1 and 2 shall intimate the petitioner, by way of a written communication, specifying in detail the additional documents required for registration.

ii. Upon receipt of such communication, the petitioner shall furnish the required documents, if they are in his possession. iii. If the petitioner is of the view that any such document is either not necessary or not available, he shall submit a reply to that effect within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the said communication.

iv. Thereafter the application of the petitioner shall be considered and final orders shall be passed within four weeks therefrom. v. No costs.
