O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to file a final report/charge sheet in Crime No.130 of 2017 dated 24.02.2017 within the period stipulated by this Court. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner is the defacto complainant and gave a criminal complaint against the brother-in-law of the petitioner. According to the petitioner, he purchased a car from his brother-inlaw and transferred the R.C Book to his name. When the petitioner approached the United India Insurance Company, Madurai for renewal of the insurance of the said vehicle, he came to know that the vehicle's registration number is fake. Thereafter, immediately the petitioner lodged a complaint before the second respondent against his brother-in-law. However, no further action was taken after the registration of FIR. This lead the petitioner to approach this Court for direction to the respondents to file charge sheet and final report.

4. As per the complaint registered, the petitioner purchased a TATA Sumo Gold Ex 2013 bearing registration No. TN 31 AU 3637 through his brother-in-law. However, when he moved for transfer of the registration of the vehicle to his name it was noticed that the Registration number is actually pertaining to another car of SANTRO DLX model-2011. Hence, the petitioner could not do the renewal of insurance because of giving a forged registration certificate for the vehicle. In such circumstances, the identity of the person, who sold the vehicle to the petitioner is known and the nature of offence committed in also known from the complaint.

5. Though the registration of the case was on 24.02.2017, there was no progress. Taking into consideration the facts alleged in the complaint and the disclosure of the person, who had committed the offence as per the complaint, this Court is inclined to give a direction to the first respondent to complete the investigation and file a final report, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Hence this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
