O R D E R

In this Writ Petition, the petitioner has challenged the order of the second respondent/District Revenue Officer dated 09.08.2024 rejecting the petitioner's request to re-classify the land in New T.S.No.106, Ward 16, Thallakulam Village, Madurai North, Madurai District, which was classified as 'street'.

2. The facts leading to the filing of this Writ Petition are that the petitioner purchased the land in New T.S.Nos.103, 104, 105, and 106 (Old S.No.212/3), to an extent of 6 cents, by a Sale Deed dated 14.05.2024 registered as Document No.1117 of 2024; that when he intended to change the patta in his favour, he came to know that, during the implementation of the UDR Scheme, the land in New T.S.No.106 had Page No. 2 of 5

been wrongly classified as 'street'; and that, for changing this classification, he submitted an application to the second respondent/District Revenue Officer, who, based on the report of the third respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer, rejected the petitioner's request on the ground that there is a reference to the street in the earlier Sale Deed dated 25.02.1980 registered as Document No.656 of 1980.

3. Now, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a direction to issue patta insofar as the lands in T.S.Nos.103 to 105 are concerned.

4. The learned Government Advocate for the first to fourth respondents undertakes that the process for issuance of patta, insofar as the lands in T.S.Nos.103 to 105 are concerned, shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
