O R D E R

The petitioners are before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to transfer the agricultural electricity service connection bearing No.248 030 291, TF: IV, CL: 5 HP in their favour and to shift the said connection from the barren well in Survey No.285/1B1 to the borewell situated in Survey No.285/1A4.

2. The said agricultural electricity service connection stood in the name of Veeramalai, who is the husband of the first petitioner and the father of petitioners 2 to 4. The said Veeramalai passed away on 10.01.2022, leaving the petitioners as his legal heirs. Thereafter, the second petitioner submitted a representation to the second respondent seeking transfer of the electricity service connection in the name of the petitioners and also permission to shift the same to the adjacent borewell in Survey No.285/1A4.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that if a fresh application is submitted by the petitioners, the same will be considered on its own merits and in accordance with law. The said submission is placed on record.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioners to submit a fresh application seeking transfer of the agricultural electricity service connection in their favour and permission to shift the service connection to the adjacent borewell. Upon submission of such application, the second respondent shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of the application.
