The petitioner challenges the impugned order passed by the second respondent.
2. By the said impugned order, the request of the petitioner for renewal of his explosive licence has been rejected. Against the order passed by the second respondent, Section 6 of the Explosives Act provides for a statutory appeal to the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government. The present Writ Petition has been filed without exhausting the efficacious alternative remedy of appeal provided under Section 6 of the Act. Therefore, this Writ Petition is not maintainable.
3. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of, preserving liberty to the petitioner to file a statutory appeal against the impugned order passed by the 2/4
second respondent. If such an appeal is filed by the petitioner on or before 10.04.2026, the same shall be entertained without reference to the period of limitation. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
