ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to accept fee and allow the petitioner's P.S.oliva Cricket Club team to participate in all the league matches and other tournaments under-14, under-16, under-19 and Senior Districts being conducted by the second respondent.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that, in the present case, the petitioner's team was prevented from participating in the league tournament, when they were ready and willing to pay the necessary fee. When the petitioner approached the second respondent in respect of participation, the second respondent replied that the petitioner's participation will be decided only in the General Body Meeting. Hence, the Writ Petition.

3. No appearance on behalf of the respondents.

4. The petitioner's team namely, P.S.Oliva Cricket Club team is ready and willing to pay necessary tournament fee and participate in all matches. Such being the case, unless and otherwise, the petitioner's team is 2/5

disqualified to participate in such tournaments, they cannot be prevented from participating in league matches and other tournaments under-14, under-16, under-19 and Senior Districts. The second respondent is a Cricket Association, which is responsible for encouraging and protecting the interest of the students. When the petitioner's team is ready and willing to participate in the league tournament, the second respondent by preventing them from participating, is discouraging them, which is not proper. Such rejection for participation will defeat the purpose of having an Association itself. Hence, in light of the objects and reasons of an Association, this Court directs the second respondent to accept the petitioner team's fee and permit them to participate in all future league matches and other tournaments under-14, under-16, under-19 and Senior Districts.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
