O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose the appeal filed by the petitioner on 03.02.2025.

2. The petitioner is working as Women Home Guard in Sivagangai District. She was promoted to Platoon Commander vide proceedings, dated 12.10.2024. By order dated 19.02.2024, the second respondent removed the petitioner from Home Guard Service. Against the order of the second respondent removing the petitioner from service, she preferred an appeal before the first respondent. Seeking a direction to dispose of the said appeal within a time frame, the petitioner filed this writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner made a complaint to the District Police Chief about the misuse and abuse made by the area Commander Mr.Muthu. But the superintendent of Police forwarded the complaint to the Deputy Superintendent of Police and he enquired the same. Due to vengeance, the second respondent issued proceedings removing the petitioner from the post of home guard service. The learned counsel further 2/5

submits that the petitioner crossed 47 years of age and due to removal order, she is suffering.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submits that the appeal filed on 03.02.2025 will be disposed of within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, in the considered opinion of this Court, it is appropriate and reasonable to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage with the consent of both sides without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case with a direction to the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal, dated 03.02.2025 filed by the petitioner within a time frame stipulated by this Court to meet the ends of justice.

7. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal, dated 03.02.2025 filed by 3/5

the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

No costs.
