PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, Periyakulam to expedite the trial and complete the same in CC No.445 of 2023 within the time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

This petition has been filed by the petitioners to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, Periyakulam to expedite the trial and complete the same in C.C.No.445 of 2023 within the time frame stipulated by this Court.
2. According to the petitioners, they are the accused in this case and F.I.R has been registered in the year 2022. Now the case is pending in C.C.No.445 of 2023, but no trial has been commenced so far. Hence this petition.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for Page No. 2 of 4
the respondent would submit that the petitioners have filed a petition in Crl.M.P.No.1392 of 2024 before the Trial Court and the same is pending. Therefore, the trial has not been commenced so far. However, the respondent will cooperate for the speedy disposal of the case by producing the witnesses as directed by the Trial Court.
4. Considering the prayer sought for in the petition, this Court directs the Trial Court, namely, the Judicial Magistrate, Periyakulam, to complete the proceedings in C.C.No.445 of 2023 as early as possible without giving any long adjournments beyond fifteen [15] days.
5. With the above said observation and direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
